The Financial ADR System (Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Financial Sector)

◆The Financial ADR system is designed to facilitate the prompt resolution of disputes between customers and financial institutions through non-judicial procedures.
◆Compared to court proceedings, the Financial ADR process is generally faster and less costly. Designated dispute resolution organizations (financial ADR institutions), staffed by neutral and fair experts, work to resolve disputes through mutual discussions between the parties involved.
◆For complaints or disputes related to transactions involving stocks, investment trusts, and other financial instruments with our company, you may use the services of the Financial Instruments Mediation Assistance Center (FINMAC), a designated dispute resolution organization under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
◆Unlike judicial procedures, which have binding authority over the recognition of facts and rulings, the Financial ADR system aims for resolution through dialogue between both parties. As such, if both the customer and the financial institution are unwilling to compromise, the resolution process may fail (i.e., no settlement may be reached).
